The predispositions to autoimmunity which involve the HLA region or genes such as PTPN22 [33], but also polymorphisms in uteroglobin (a multifunctional protein with anti-inflammatory properties) and NF-κB2 (a transcription factor that regulates the expression of a wide range of immune response genes) were associated with a genetic predisposition towards developing both vasculitis and RA [34]. Here, NFKB2 is linked to vasculitis.
