PDILT and Infertility: More interestingly, the deletion of PDIA7 (also known as PDILT) in the testis caused infertility in mice, due to the decreased expression of a disintegrin and metalloproteinase 3 (ADAM3), which is a sperm membrane protein that is essential for the migration of sperm from the uterus to the oviduct; the role of PDIA7 is associated with disulfide bond formation of ADAM3 for its expression on sperm surface (12).
