The phosphorylation of PKM2 at Tyr105 and Ser37 can be activated by an allosteric activator, TEPP-46, results in PKM2 tetramerization and inhibits its nuclear translocation to prevent glycolysis, which reduces CD4+ T cell pathogenicity and inhibits autoimmunity (Angiari et al., 2020).
