NFKB1 and atherosclerosis: Salvianolic acid B, as another primary hydrophilic components of DS, has been reported to reduce inflammatory cytokine levels as well as attenuate the phosphorylation of MAPK/NF-κB signalings in RAW264.7 cells triggered by oxidized low-density lipoprotein/lipopolysaccharide, and thereby exhibit anti-inflammatory consequences against atherosclerosis in vitro and in vivo (Zhang et al., 2022).
