Researchers demonstrated that SGLT-2 inhibitor initiation after a median follow-up period of 2.1 years resulted in a significant decrease in the risk for the primary composite endpoint (all-cause death or hospitalization for HF) by 32% and in the risk for the secondary composite endpoint (all-cause death, non-fatal AMI or non-fatal ischemic stroke) by 23% [43]. Here, SLC5A2 is linked to hydrops fetalis.
