Dieckol was found to reduce the invasive and apoptotic abilities of A549 lung cancer cells in vitro by inhibiting signaling through phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), protein kinase B (AKT1), and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and activation of the tumor suppressor protein E cadherin (CDH1) 81. Here, AKT1 is linked to lung cancer.
