NFKB1 and colitis: In this study, the methoxy group was substitutedby several different functional groups, and the anti-inflammatoryability of curcumin was assessed in terms of nitrite production, iNOSand COX2 expressions, and activation of the NF-κB signalingpathway.29 This finding was further confirmedin a DSS-induced colitis mouse model, showing that the beneficialeffect of curcumin was diminished when the methoxy groups were substituted. In our study, the fact that FER showed a better effect on immune responsemodulation is in agreement with those of previous studies, but furtherinvestigation is needed.
