NEK7 and colorectal carcinoma: Given the crucial role of NLRP3 in the pathogenesis of IBD and the fact that intestinal inflammation is a major risk factor for CRC, with NLRP3 being a key inflammatory mediator directly involved in the pathological process of CRC [45]; in addition, as mentioned earlier, there are several close associations between NEK7 and the activation of NLRP3, along with our research on the causal relationship between NEK7 and CRC, it is therefore necessary to investigate the physiological and pathological role of NEK7 within circulating Treg cells in colorectal cancer.
