Previous work showed that mCRP was deposited in the cortical microvessels of individuals who died from either stroke or AD, and this was concomitant with expression of inflammatory markers, such as CD68 and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), and also aquaporin 4, associated with lymphatic Aβ clearance [4,22]. The gene discussed is AQP4; the disease is stroke disorder.
