C3 and C3 glomerulonephritis: In 50% to 80% of cases, C3 glomerulonephritis is associated with antibodies targeting various complement components.4, 5, 6, 7 Among these, C3 nephritic factors (C3NeFs), autoantibodies that stabilize the AP C3 convertase amplifying the complement cascade, are most common, occurring in up to 80% of patients with dense deposit disease and up to 50% in C3 glomerulonephritis.4
