PLA2R1 and membranous glomerulonephritis: Finally, over the last decade, PLA2R1 has attracted much attention in membranous nephropathy (MN), a rare but severe autoimmune kidney disease in which PLA2R1 was identified as the major autoantigen, with circulating anti-PLA2R1 autoantibodies present in a majority of MN patients (18, 19).
