CLMP protein is expressed and localized to the junction complexes that are formed between endothelial and epithelial cells and may play a role in cell-cell adhesion, and expression of CLMP in white adipose NECTIN2 (or PVRL2) is a cell adhesion molecule involved in lipid metabolism, it is an important marker for progressive carotid atherosclerosis (Li et al., 2021). The gene discussed is CLMP; the disease is carotid atherosclerosis.
