Cholinesterase inhibitors are being developed as a remedy against AD, and more interest is turned towards natural sources that produce diverse alkaloids, phenolic compounds, coumarins, and terpenoids with great anticholinesterase potential against both acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) and are therefore potential AD drug candidates [9,10,11,12]. This evidence concerns the gene ACHE and Alzheimer disease.
