Figure 4d,e showed that both treatments found endocrine components associated with pancreatic islets. When insulin production or release is deficient, the lipolysis process is not inhibited, causing hyperlipidemia. However, our results showed that the animals treated with the aqueous extract and the ethanol fraction of P. ligularis attenuated insulin resistance, which could be related to the decrease in TG, total cholesterol, and LDL-C with the increase in HDL-C compared to diabetic animals administered with the vehicle. This evidence concerns the gene INS and hyperlipidemia.
