Paplinska et al. gave birth to the first study that evaluated the impact of interactions between human monocyte-derived dendritic cells (moDCs) and epithelial cells co-cultured with monocyte-derived macrophages (moMφs) on TSLP, IL-33, and IL-17A expression in asthma and COPD, concluding that TSLP, IL-33, and IL-17A expression in moDCs are differently regulated by the epithelium in asthma, COPD, and healthy subjects. The gene discussed is IL17A; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
