CXCL8 and cancer: Previous studies have reported that consumption of food with increased sugar-free content produces increased serum levels of IL-8 [36]; additionally, the fact that after nutritional support this cytokine negatively correlated with muscle mass-related markers but positively with ferritin and C-RP suggests that it might be modulated after nutritional support in patients with cancer, but its effect should be assessed after longer interventions.
