The disorganization of the white pulp, which is related to the lymphocytopenic effect of the viral infection on hematopoietic organs, may also be the consequence of the direct viral invasion of T lymphocytes, or rather by the innate immunity dysregulation with the constant release of proinflammatory cytokines, like Il-6 or Il-1, including from infected spleen macrophages, which, in turn, generate lymphocytic apoptosis [30]. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and viral infectious disease.
