Punzi et al. compared differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the PFC between violent and non-violent suicide patients (BD, MD, or SCZ) and determined increased transcription of P2RY12, purinergic receptor P2Y13 (P2RY13), and G protein-coupled receptor 34 (GPR34) (a paralog of P2RY14), which are enriched in the purinergic signaling of microglia [77]. This evidence concerns the gene GPR34 and Menkes disease.
