Briefly, the direct factor Xa inhibitors are a reasonable option in ambulatory PC patients with DVT or PE with an intact upper gastrointestinal tract, without nausea or vomiting, with a low risk of bleeding, with a platelet count > 50,000/mm3, with a creatinine clearance > 30 mL/min, without severe hepatic impairment, and for whom no surgical intervention was planned. This evidence concerns the gene F10 and deep vein thrombosis.
