IL-8 affects proliferation, migration, invasion, and mobility of cancer cells, and may induce morphological and molecular changes associated with EMT by changes in shape from cuboidal to spindle, actin cytoskeleton remodeling, upregulation of vimentin, and downregulation of E-cadherin in lung carcinoma cells [6,7,38]. The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is lung carcinoma.
