In addition to providing important new information on the opposing roles of oncogenic changes in p53 and KRAS in colon cancer cells not only in terms of macropinocytosis and ferroptosis but also in terms of the control of SLC38A5 and SLC7A11 expression, the present study highlights the therapeutic potential of the FDA-approved anti-helminthic drug niclosamide. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and malignant colon neoplasm.
