In control EVs, abundance of Lipocalin-2 (LCN2) correlated positively to FEV1/FVC (r = 0.60, p = 0.03), whereas abundance of Apolipoprotein E (APOE) and the neutrophil granule protein Lactoferrin (LTF) correlated negatively to FEV1/FVC (r = −0.45, p = 0.05 and r = −0.50, p = 0.04, respectively) in COPD EVs. Here, LCN2 is linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
