While there are no official, universally-accepted guidelines on testing accommodations for people with T1D, the American Diabetes Association recommends [26]: “breaks to check blood glucose... levels, eat a snack, take medication, or go to the bathroom”; “the ability to rest until blood glucose levels become normal”; “the ability to keep diabetes supplies and food nearby”; and “a private area to test blood glucose or administer insulin.” This evidence concerns the gene INS and diabetes mellitus.
