Termed “CML-like” due to the presence of what is likely the BCR/ABL1 fusion protein in the stem cell or myeloid lineage (as opposed to the lymphoid lineage), the genetics of this positive RT-qPCR are unrelated to the active ALL that would usually benefit from the monitoring of the presence of the BCR/ABL1 protein.
