A previous study by Rivera et al. (2019) identified by using the TCGA database that several mitotic and centrosome regulators, including mitotic kinases, are overexpressed in TNBC, and are more likely to be overexpressed in non-Hispanic Black women with breast cancer, including TTK, NEK2, PLK1, Cyclin B1, BUB1, Aurora Kinase A, Aurora Kinase B and NDC 80 (HEC1) [6]. Here, NEK2 is linked to breast cancer.
