Serum levels of C-reactive protein [37.5 (9.8, 118.0) vs. 13.5 (6.9, 33.5), p = 0.005] and erythrocyte sedimentation rate [38.0 (15.0, 63.0) vs. 22.0 (13.0, 38.5), p = 0.021] were lower in the reinfection group than in the first infection group. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and infection.
