Asciminib is a first-in-class allosteric BCR::ABL1 inhibitor and was recently approved for the treatment of adults with Philadelphia (Ph) chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) in chronic phase, who have previously been treated with two or more tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) [1]. The gene discussed is ABL1; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
