TRIM8 promotes the degradation of oncoproteins such as MDM2 to stabilize p53 in colorectal cancer [24], catalyzes K48-linked ubiquitination and degradation of estrogen receptor-α (ERα) in breast cancer [25] and mediates degradation of EWS/FLI, an fusion oncoprotein of Ewing sarcoma [26], thus suppressing the malignant phenotypes of these cancers.
