To explore the possibility that M2 macrophages polarize into M1 macrophages and thus attenuate CF, we based a previous study on the key role of glycogen metabolism in memory T-cell formation, the maintenance of CD8+ T cells (Zhang et al. 2020), and M1 polarization of macrophages (Ma et al. 2020). The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is cystic fibrosis.
