El Amrousy et al. [10] examined the serum ALP, P1NP, urinary deoxypyridinoline (DPD), glutathione, superoxide dismutase (SOD), and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels as bone biomarkers and glutathione, superoxide dismutase (SOD), and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels as OS markers in 40 T1DM patients and 40 control subjects aged < 18 years and found a relationship between oxidative stress and bone turnover biomarkers in patients with T1DM. The gene discussed is SOD1; the disease is type 1 diabetes mellitus.
