TP53TG1 has abundant m6A modification sites, but the demethylase ALKBH5 abolishes TP53TG1 stability, reduces its expression level and promotes its degradation, and suppresses the PI3K/AKT pathway by binding cellular inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A, resulting in the inhibition of cell cycle progression and proliferation in gastric cancer. Here, TP53TG1 is linked to gastric cancer.
