While the efficacy of poly ADP‐ribose polymerase inhibitor (PARPi) therapy is currently under investigation for mBC with somatic BRCA1/2 mutations (sBRCA1/2m) by the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium (NCT03344965), there are data on germline mutations in BRCA1 or BRCA2 already, which are carried by approximately 5% of unselected patients with breast cancer [126] and are detected in up to 20% of patients with TNBC [127]. Here, BRCA2 is linked to breast cancer.
