Although not statistically significantly greater, there was a trend that IFN-I was first detectably greater in the medium at 48 h post infection compared to the uninfected cells (Fig. 5A), despite upregulation of IFITM3 and ISG15 by 8–12 h post infection (Figs. 5B and EV4A).
