In malignant gliomas, Liu et al. reported that IL-8 blockade can reshape the glioma TME from pro-tumour to antitumor status by eliminating both myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and mast cells and by repopulating tumour-associated macrophages (TAMs), resulting in an overall antitumor immune response in synergy with immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy [30].
