AR and prostate cancer: Notably, recent studies have shown that AR blockade by enzalutamide reprograms cellular metabolism in prostate cancer cells, resulting in an increased reliance on mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS).[16, 17] In this study, our independent findings add to this understanding by demonstrating that enzalutamide treatment induces prostate cancer cells to become dependent on oxidative phosphorylation.
