Interestingly, we observed that, among the 87 qDSGs in our list that are highly expressed in any of the tissues assessed (top 5% percentile), 36 of them remain in this percentile category from fetal age to adulthood, of which 8 have already been reported to be associated with autism and other NDDs (CLIP2, HDLBP, HNRNPU, KIF1A, SBF1, YWHAE, YWHAG, PRKCB; Figures S3 and S4; Table S7). This evidence concerns the gene HDLBP and autism.
