Cancers from individuals heterozygous for CHEK2 gPVs also presented with tissue-specific mutational signatures in 10/28 (36%) cancers, including mutational signatures SBS2 and SBS13 in bladder and breast cancers, and mutational signature SBS29 (tobacco chewing) in lung cancers (Figure 1, D). Here, CHEK2 is linked to breast carcinoma.
