In terms of changes in reproductive hormones with COVID 19 infection, a case-control study (13) of 89 patients hospitalized for COVID-19 disease, 30 hospitalized patients with respiratory tract infection due to other causes, and 143 age matched healthy controls, revealed significantly lower testosterone and higher LH and prolactin levels in patients with COVID-19 infection compared with the other 2 groups. Here, PLOD1 is linked to Respiratory tract infection.
