This finding aligns with previous research, where immune system activation was one of the earliest regulated pathways post-Fxn knockdown.13,14 Thus, utilizing the differentially expressed 293-gene list derived from Friedreich's ataxia patient whole blood data, we postulate that it is feasible to rank and validate these genes for the identification of potential biomarkers for Friedreich's ataxia.
