TACC3 and cancer: Therefore, the FGFR3-TACC3 fusion delineates a distinct oncogenic pathway, differing from but paralleling the mechanism of ligand-dependent FGFR activation.11,12 Both mechanisms notably contribute to the pathophysiology of cancer through separate molecular routes.8 This enhanced understanding positions the FGFR3-TACC3 fusion as a critical target for the development of innovative cancer treatment strategies that specifically address the unique vulnerabilities introduced by this fusion protein, especially for GB.3,8
