Recent identification of disease susceptibility loci in HLA (DRB1*14:01, DRB1*15:03, and motifs in HLA-A (Leu62 and Gln63)) and KIR (KIR2DL5B(−)/KIR2DS3(+)/KIR2DS5(−)/KIR2DS4del(+)) [19, 20] suggested the involvement of T cells and NK cells in inducing myocarditis post vaccination, demonstrating the role of genetic predisposition in mediating susceptibility of vaccine-induced myocarditis. The gene discussed is HLA-A; the disease is myocarditis.
