Notably, all of these genes were found to be upregulated in sarcopenia, and many of them were associated with energy or lipid metabolism, like protein kinase cAMP‐dependent type II regulatory subunit beta (PRKAR2B), patatin like phospholipase domain containing 3 (PNPLA3), NNMT and alcohol dehydrogenase 1B (ADH1B) (Figure 1f). Here, ADH1B is linked to sarcopenia.
