In part, there is a connection between SNAI1, which is similar to the Drosophila Snail protein, and various aspects such as the induction of epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT), the maintenance of stem cell properties, resistance to chemotherapy, and the invasive nature of high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) (Hojo et al. 2018; Lu et al. 2012a; Kurrey et al. 2009). Here, SNAI1 is linked to ovarian serous adenocarcinoma.
