The studies related to BCG immunotherapy in melanoma revealed an increase in the production of inflammatory cytokines (IFN-γ, TNF-α, TNF-β, IL-15, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-32), chemokines (CCL2, CCL18, CXCL9, CXCL10, and CXCL11), as well as stress-induced molecules (BTN3A1 and MICB) after BCG intratumoral injection that correlates with regression of cutaneous melanoma metastases (27). Here, IL1B is linked to melanoma.
