SIRT1 and liver dysplastic nodule: Sirtuin 1 (Sirt1) is an important member of the conserved family of the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)-dependent deacetylases that controls hyperglycemia, oxidative stress, inflammation and fibrosis by regulating transcriptional activities of a wide range of enzymes including ACE2, eNOS and NF-κB p65 subunit in DN (Hallows et al., 2012; Price et al., 2012; Yacoub et al., 2014).
