ILK and neoplasm: Lastly, the complexity of players and signaling pathways involved regulate not only cellular survival processes, but also CSC proliferation, indicating the disruption of Fzd7/ILK axis as a possible therapeutic target, in agreement with a previous study showing that cpd-22 reduced invasiveness of OC cells [52] and that ILK-KD blocked OC cells growth by inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, decreased OC cells invasion and migration, and delayed tumor formation in OC mouse model [22, 53–55].
