Several studies point to a pathological role of the ACKR3 axis during neuroinflammatory demyelinating diseases, specifically (a) promotion of immune cells infiltration into the CNS [4], (b) contribution to chemotaxis and phagocytosis of macrophages/microglia [10–12], (c) modulation of astrocyte functions [9, 13, 14], and (d) contribution to demyelination processes [8]. Here, ACKR3 is linked to demyelinating disease.
