Specifically, target prediction miRNA analysis revealed that six of the differentially expressed saliva and serum miRNAs, including tobacco smoked‐related miR‐187‐3p, can target genes associated with an inflammatory and cancer‐related or antiapoptotic function through cancer‐related canonical pathways, such as PI3K/AKT/mTOR, MAP3K8, BCL2, DGKZ/mTOR (Table 1B).33, 34, 35, 36, 37. This evidence concerns the gene BCL2 and cancer.
