In addition, we presented data from target prediction mRNA analysis, that showed that mRNA profiles of oral cancer secretions or circulation, such as TNC (tenascin‐C) and MMP‐10 in saliva, and PTGS2 and RELA in serum, are linked to oncogenic function through inflammatory and cancer‐related pathways, such as IL‐8 and PI3K/AKT and tumor microenvironment pathways, targeting molecules that are also targets of drugs, suggesting their potential use as an index of treatment monitoring. The gene discussed is PTGS2; the disease is cancer.
