More specifically, SNPs in BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes are well-known risk factors for breast cancer in addition to other DNA repair genes such as EXO1 and CHEK2. Additionally, we observed significant disparities in genetic alterations among the intrinsic subtypes of breast cancer, a trend not fully captured by the number of breast cancer-related SNPs identified in our analysis. Here, CHEK2 is linked to breast cancer.
