A recent study investigating autoreactive T cell immunity in patients with GBS [32] found that patients with AIDP had CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in their blood, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and nerve tissue reactive to myelin protein 0 (P0), myelin protein 2 (P2), or peripheral myelin protein 22 (PMP22) (Figure 2a). The gene discussed is PMP22; the disease is Guillain-Barre syndrome, familial.
